About Us

Commercial Mortgage Arranger is owned and operated by Larry Sherman, a 20+ year finance professional.

After graduating with a finance degree from George Washington University, Larry went through a credit training program with a community bank, becoming a credit analyst and then senior credit analyst. During this time Larry obtained his MBA in Corporate Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

When the credit crunch of the mid 1980s hit, and the bank developed problems, Larry joined ITT Small Business Finance Corp. to originate business financing through the SBA 7(a) program. After 7 years, ITT SBFC was acquired by GE Capital, the nations largest non-bank lender, to give GE Capital a foothold in originating financing to the lower middle market. GE Capital repositioned the business to become a lender to existing business to finance or refinance the buildings that companies operated from. The 504 loan product was added in 1996 and GE became an active lender in this program, becoming the most active lender in the NYC market in 2004.

With the success of 504 conventional first mortgages, GE added a pure conventional mortgage product for owner/users of business property to purchase, refinance and renovate the buildings that they operate from and majority occupy. Larry Sherman continued to be a top producer until leaving GE to set up Commercial Mortgage Arrangers.
